Remove Tyre Marks In Warehouses

We are frequently asked to remove tyre marks in warehouses. Well, there’s no need to look any further. One of the main pieces of equipment within the warehousing, distribution, logistics and manufacturing sector is the forklift truck. They’re essential in moving products, pallets and items from one place to another. If they don’t, then you don’t get paid.

However, owning, leasing, using forklift trucks isn’t always as easy as it may sound, not only is there so much choice from the likes of Linde, Crown, Toyota, Briggs, Mitsubishi and the countless other local dealers. There is also the issue of cleaning up after forklifts, especially the removal of tyre marks in warehouses.

Cleanliness Standards In Warehouses

Depending on the type of forklift truck you have, different standards of cleanliness will have to be implemented. For example, a diesel forklift truck will give off diesel fumes which then eventually settles, leaving you with dust on the floor and at a high level. Not only does this add to the dust levels already found in a warehouse, it’s not exactly the healthiest of dust to be breathing in. See more at our high level cleaning page to see how we can help.

One thing that all forklift trucks have in common, whether they be diesel, electric, lpg powered, a combilift, a counter balance and a VNA is that they all leave tyre marks. In most cases, this is the main gripe that clients have when owning a forklift. We are often asked how to remove tyre marks in warehouses as clients hate the marks on the floor as it’s the one thing that customers, visitors and employees see all the time.

So why are they there? There’s a number of reasons, the main one unfortunately lies with the operators of the forklifts. It’s common that they wheel spin the tyres which effectively transfers the rubber from the tire onto the floor. In some cases, this can’t be helped. For example, if their forklift is carrying a large load then it could mean that just by turning the rubber is transferred onto the floor. But in a busy working environment, it doesn’t take long for a floor to be covered in such marks.

We Help Remove Rubber Tyre Marks In Warehouses

Your Cleaning Team is able to help in removing these marks. It would be wrong to say that all of these marks will come out, because they won’t, it depends on many factors such as the floor type, is the floor sealed etc. What we can guarantee is that some of them will be removed and that area will be clean. If you want to just have certain areas cleaned to remove some tyre marks in your warehouse, visit our one off and spot cleans page for more information.

With the right chemical, the right brush or pad and the right approach we can comfortably say that you will definitely see a huge difference.

Why remove tyre marks from the warehouse floor? Well as stated previously, not only does it aesthetically look better but, you will find that after removing the marks the floor will be cleaned to a high standard as it essentially is a deep clean of a condensed area, (if you’d like a full warehouse deep clean, visit our deep cleans page for more information). You will also find that there will be much more grip under foot creating a safer environment to walk in and when the fork lifts are operating so that they don’t slide around.

Where we see a lot of tyre marks in warehouses, distribution centers etc is when they have just been built. (For more information on builders’ cleans visit our builders cleans page). It seems strange to think that when a warehouse has just been built that there would be a lot of marks in there, well it’s all due to the large, heavy access equipment needed to complete these builds and often the floor is not sealed so these marks are near impossible to get out, however, again with the right process some of them may be removed.
