University Square in Southend is a student residential development for students at The University of Essex's (UoE) Southend campus. It is arranged as a series of blocks of varying heights. Due to the nature of the insulation used in the external build-up of the rainscreen cladding system, meaning the building is not of limited combustibility, the only solution to this is to remove and replace the existing non-compliant cladding which is the subject of an enforcement notice.
